Carnon Downs: Day 1 (Good Friday)
The Easter break came early for us all this year. There had been all sorts of weather warnings in the press but as we had booked our campsite back in October 2007 we decided to hit the road, whatever the weather!!!!
We headed off down to Carnon Downs, a little village approximately 3.5 miles outside Truro, on Good Friday morning. After arriving late morning, we were given a pack of walks, mostly direct from the site, by the campsite reception. After we had pitched up we decided to head for Devoran, another small village on the creek. It was a round walk of about 4 miles, down country roads, over stiles and across muddy farmland - and in some cases very muddy farmland!!!
On arrival in Devoran we found the village pub (bonus!), where we sat OUTSIDE in the Spring sunshine (sheltered from the howling wind!) and enjoyed our first pints! We also saw the first bluebells of the year along the creek side. I'm sure March is VERY early for bluebells????

Good to find your site - we have just spent 2 years full timing. It was wonderful fun. We sold up our home and lived on the interest and only settled down again because of a crash in Spain which did a lot of damage to our Autotrail Dakota which meant returning to the uk for repairs. Go for it you won't regret it - we just wish we didn't have to stop.
