May 2008: Day 1 Brockenhurst, New Forest

After a 3.5 hour journey from home along the south coast of Devon & Dorset we arrived in the New Forest at lunchtime. We stayed on the Caravan Club site at Brockenhurst, right in the middle of the forest. Due to some very heavy rain a few days before we arrived, only a third of the site was open (ie the hardstanding pitches only). So what would've been an absolutely packed site over a Bank Holiday weekend turned out to be a nice quiet site! Just how we like it! We pitched up, had a bite to eat and ventured into Brockenhurst via the cycle path. We did attempt to cross the heathland for some part of the walk but it was still very boggy from the previously mentioned rain!
