The last section of the towpath seemed to be the hardest (as it always does!). It was more built up along the canal side than previous sections and was littered with barges. We also walked over the little aquaduct that runs over the now disused railway line.
On arrival in Tiverton, we had a picnic lunch before catching the bus back to Sampford Peverell. We then spent the rest of the day and evening on the site just chilling out.
We cannot believe how lucky we were with the weather for our first trip. We had a great weekend and we are now counting down the days til Easter, our next trip. We're off to Charmouth so watch out for blog updates!

Hi Sharon
so glad to hear that your first trip out for 2009 was a good one, so envious of the canal photos, love walking canals especially for the wildlife. We are going up to where the Chesterfield canal meets the River trent at Easter for a few days. Have a good Easter trip too,
Jane
Thanks for your comment Jane. Always good to know that people do actually read our blog!!
Enjoy your canal trip over Easter.
