Dulverton, Exmoor: Our Latest Trip.

Day 1: Arrived on site, just after 1pm, pitched up and brewed up as we always do!!!

The weather was brilliant. Almost clear blue skies and very warm. Wanted to check out the local area so we wandered around Dulverton town - a pretty little town with all you could need for a short break in the area. We then walked 'out of town' and followed the route of the river. Spent the afternoon just messing around and wasting time - brilliant! The evening was spent sat outside the local pub (only 200 yards from the campsite!) talking to other campers, eating and enjoying the delights of some local scrumpy!

Day 2: We were up early to enjoy the dry weather. It may not have been wall-to-wall sunshine but it was dry, and still fairly warm. We had decided to walk through Burridge Woods, just a short walk from our campsite. Once you got up into the woods, via a very well signposted footpath, the smell was fabulous - wild garlic! The bluebells were also in bloom and had carpeted large parts of the woodland. After a stop for Paddy to enjoy the River Barle we had planned on walking to Tarr Steps, before discovering it was 6.5 miles each way (thanks to some kind local walkers' knowledge!). So, we just walked a further 2 miles along the meandering river, and back again or course!
