June 2009 - Stoke Gabriel, South Devon - Saturday pm

We continued to wander back out of the village, passing the Church House Inn (where we had spent the previous evening sat outside with our friends Steve & Mary!) and the Church with its pretty churchyard overlooking the river.

We spent the rest of the evening back on site, with the resident bunnies and Steve & Mary.
Next morning we had a lovely cooked breakfast before packing up and heading home.
Another lovely trip. We are very lucky again with the weather and we are now looking forward to our next trip - Darmouth in July!

June 2009 - Stoke Gabriel, South Devon - Saturday pm

There were loads of people about in the village and down on the river, crabbing, fishing, sunbathing, eating ice creams and generally enjoying the fine June weather.

June 2009 - Stoke Gabriel, South Devon - Saturday pm

After lunch we headed into town to pick up some fresh baked scones, some clotted cream and some jam so we could have a cream tea on return to the campsite!!!!

After we'd stuffed ourselves (!) we thought we'd better walk off the excess so headed down into the pretty village of Stoke Gabriel, approximately one mile from the site.

June 2009 - Paignton, South Devon - Saturday am

After a mooch around the harbour we headed towards the pier, where we decided to have lunch in a doggie friendly cafe that sat on the entrance to the pier. The clouds were pretty black at the time and it really looked as if it would rain but we never had a drop!!!

June 2009 - Paignton Harbour, South Devon - Saturday am
From the promenade we walked around to the small harbour .

June 2009 - Paignton, South Devon - Saturday am

On Saturday we decided to go into Paignton, but we cheated.......we caught the bus. The bus stop was right outside the campsite! After a bumpy ride around the houses we arrived in Paignton mid morning. We had a wander along the promenade first. We had expected the place to be packed with holidaymakers but it was relatively quiet. Again the sun hadn't decided what to do!!!!

June 2009 - Galmpton Creek, South Devon - Friday pm

The sun kept appearing and disappearing behind the clouds but it was a very warm day. We walked down to the creek through the bustling boatyard and then back up to the road across the fields via the public footpath - where there was a very high slate stile so Paddy had to be lifted over it!!!

June 2009 - Stoke Gabriel, South Devon - Friday pm

Another month, another trip. This time to South Devon, Stoke Gabriel to be precise.......a quaint village that sits on the River Dart.

We left home mid morning on the Friday and arrived on site, at the newly refurbished Caravan Club site (Ramslade), at lunchtime.

After a quick bite to eat we headed off down the country lanes for a walk to Galmpton Creek, passing through the tiny hamlet of Wadderton, where all the cottages were thatched and pink.
