August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Saturday pm - Paddy!

Paddy didn't mind posing for me while we were sat by the river!!!!

He didn't think much of the ducks though who were waddling past him.

We spent the rest of the day relaxing on site and then had a nice meal in the Bridge Inn that evening.

We packed up Sunday morning and headed home feeling refreshed and ready for the working week!

August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Saturday pm - pub (The Bridge Inn) area!

Right alongside the bridge and river is the aptly named Bridge Inn (where we spent both Friday and Saturday evenings!). It's just a short walk from the campsite so is always packed with happy campers.
We sat by river and watched the world go by for a while!

August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Saturday am - Town and bridge area
After a bit of window shopping in the town we headed around to the bridge area for a walk up along the river.

August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Saturday am - Dulverton Church

We had a lovely lay in on Saturday morning (as you do) and after breakfast decided to just wander around Dulverton during the morning.

We walked along the river and up to the church.

August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Friday pm

From Marsh Bridge we took the public footpath into Burridge Woods. Unfortunately we couldn't continue on the normal route through the woods back to Dulverton as there had been a landslide and the path was closed off temporarily.

August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Friday pm - Exmoor cottages

En-route there were plenty of quaint little cottage sat alongside the river and surrounded by lovely countryside.

August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Friday pm - Marsh Bridge

After we had pitched up and sorted ourselves out we headed off site for a short walk out of the town and along the river Barle to Marsh Bridge.

August - Dulverton, Exmoor - Friday pm
We had decided to leave the 'bucket and spade' sites behind during August and head inland to the peaceful and beautiful countryside of the Exmoor National Park. We stayed on the Caravan Club site (Exmoor House) in the centre of the quaint little town of Dulverton, where we arrived on Friday afternoon and found ourselves a nice big hardstanding pitch alongside the river Barle.
