September 2009 - Day 8 - Cheddar

Friday was once again pack-up day. We headed off early morning on our journey to our final campsite in Cheddar. We stopped and had a picnic lunch on the way South, near Abergavenny.

Once in Cheddar we pitched up and spent the afternoon and early evening enjoying the delights of the village and its friendly inns!!!

This was our final night camping. We did however spend the Saturday at the South West Motorhome Show at Shepton Mallet. There were lots of new and used motorhomes on offer but nothing caught our eye!

Next trip is in October so not long to wait!!! :o)

September 2009 - Day 7 - Barmouth
We spent the rest of the day in and around Barmouth. It really is a beautiful part of Wales, especially when the sun shines.

September 2009 - Day 7 - Barmouth

We walked down to the bridge and the little beach that sits under it so that Paddy could have a dip!

September 2009 - Day 7 - Barmouth

We woke up to the most glorious blue skies on the Thursday morning so we walked along the prom into Barmouth again.

September 2009 - Day 6 - Barmouth

Our favourite place in Wales! We arrived on site at lunchtime, pitched up, had some lovely bacon sarnies for lunch and then took a slow wander along the prom into Barmouth, where we spent the afternoon sat outside, overlooking the bridge people watching.

September 2009 - Day 6 - Betws-y-Coed

We took some photos of us (!) whilst down by the river.

September 2009 - Day 6 - Betws-y-Coed

We walked through the village down to the riverside.

September 2009 - Day 6 - Betws-y-Coed

Wednesday was pack up day again as we were heading further South to Barmouth. We were up early and it was a glorious day so we decided to have another hour or so in Betws-y-Coed before heading off.
Just outside the site, near the church, was a lovely bridge (it was a bit rickety and scary to cross for a wimp like me!) crossing the river.

September 2009 - Day 5 - Betws-y-Coed

Tuesday was a wet day. Unfortunately Paddy had had a bad reaction to his arthritis tablets so we had to pack up the camper (temporarily) and rush him off to the 'local' vets in Llanwrst (about 4 or 5 miles away from the site). They looked after him really well. I didn't take any photos on the Tuesday!!! :o(

September 2009 - Day 4 - Betws-y-Coed

On Monday morning we left Conwy and headed South to Snowdonia where we stayed on a campsite right in the heart of the pretty village of Betws-y-Coed. On arrival we pitched up and headed into the village for a lovely pub lunch, sat outside in the sunshine.

We wandered back via the little railway station, passing the tiny church of St Michael on the way.

September 2009 - Day 3 - Tyddyn Du campsite

That evening the colours produced by the changeable weather over the coast and headlands were fantastic. All photos were taken from our pitch where we had views of Puffin Island (off the Angelsey coast) and the Great Orme, Llandudno.

September 2009 - Day 3 - Conwy town

Whilst wandering we came across the muscle sculpture and the smallest house complete with 'little Welsh lady'!!!

The town itself was bustling (for a Sunday) and there are signs of the original town walls all around.
